Alina Schenk is currently a doctoral student at the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Targu Mures and a teaching assistant within the Department of Ethics and Social Sciences. Her research interests are focused on emotional disorders, especially depression and anxiety. Therefore, her doctoral research project aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral interventions in depression and anxiety associated with Multiple Sclerosis, as well as the psychological processes influencing the emotional adjustment in this condition.
As a member within the Department of Counseling, Career Guidance and Informing Students (DCCGIS) research team, Alina participated in studies on the efficiency of psychological approaches like cognitive therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy for generalized anxiety disorder, along with investigations regarding the role of acceptance and planning as emotional regulation strategies used by university students in stressful academic contexts. She has also contributed to research aiming the identification of psychological mechanisms in psychiatric pathology, including psychotic spectrum disorders.
